No Bluetooth or HDMI, but it can be added along with more memory This HP Pavillion desktop is a good choice for everyday computing, yet lacks a HDMI port and Bluetooth capabilities. The memory is a minimal 4GB out of the box, but can be upgraded to a robust 16GB. The 6MB cache helps performance, as does the 7200 RPM hard drive, but is all this enough to justify a fairly high asking price for the specs? I’m not sure.WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS PC…Core i5 processors are very good, and when you combine that with 6MB of cache and a decent amount of memory, you’ve got a winner. This PC has 2 of the 3 components in place. The memory, the Achilles heel of this configuration, can be upgraded by using the (2) memory slots. You’d need to add a matched pair of 4GB or 8GB to upgrade to either 8GB or 16GB of memory. Here’s a product that would upgrade it to 8GB total memory; replacing the existing memory: .The build quality is good and the case feels solid. Ports are easy to access and clearly marked. I’ve enjoyed many HP desktops and laptops, and this one is on par with former models in this way. There are (4) expansion slots in the case which would allow you to add things like a TV tuner, USB 3.0 ports, or similar to this model. Not everyone will want to do this, but it’s nice to know you have space if you want to add something like this product: .A 300W power supply isn’t exciting, but it is necessary. Some models ship with lesser ‘umph’, but I was happy to see that this tower is good to go! This PC is also capable of multi-displays. Meaning, you can hookup more than one monitor to it.USB 3.0 ports at the front (2) of the case and at the rear (2) are a smart additions to this desktop PC. Leaving (4) USB 2.0 ports to the rear is nice too, as it gives an adequate number of connectivity options for this PC. Users can still add USB hubs (2.0 or 3.0) if they need more.A 7 in 1 card reader makes it easy to plug in virtually any media from a camera or smartphone, and read from it or write to it. This is pretty much standard with all PCs now, but always good to see!The SuperMulti DVD burner drive reads and writes DVDs and CD media. Not a Blu-ray player, but DVD movies play well on it and if you hook up a camcorder you can burn the recorded movies to a .This PC is wireless, thus you can use it in any room of your home or office, assuming you have a reliable wireless network available to you. I recommend the . It works well and is easy to setup and use with multiple streaming devices. There’s not a lot of HP installed software to bog down this PC. You can get a lot of free software in the Microsoft Store (installed as part of Windows 8.1) found on your home screen in the Metro or tile view. There are HP Support software options installed for diagnostics and assistance, and commonly used apps like Kindle and Netflix.WHAT I WISH WAS BETTER…I would have loved to have seen at least 8GB of installed memory, a separate video (graphics) card and a separate sound card at this price. The integrated video and sound are not a huge issue, but those interested in video editing or gaming (other than online games…), may want to look elsewhere. Users who search the Internet, stream movies from Amazon or Netflix, check email and Facebook, and edit a few photos, won’t have an issue. There’s no room to grow in terms of expansion bays; allowing for another hard drive or disc drive addition, as both slots are filled by existing hardware. Again, not an issue for everyone, but something to consider when purchasing a PC that you hope to keep for say, three years. No Bluetooth? No HDMI port? WHY?! This should be standard in all PCs priced over three-hundred in my opinion. These are both commonly used interfaces, and while you can get a to boost graphics and add HDMI and a is easy to install and use, you shouldn’t have to at this price point…
Very Fast Four Core: Its an i5-4570 with 7059 Passmark score. Single core at 2059 is 80% of the fastest desktop CPU. 0
