How to Find Designer iPod nano Cases
If you’re like me, you carry your nano with you most of the day and want a hold that reflects you, your style. On the other hand, if you’re only going to use your 3G nano in an armband at the gym, stop reading now.
The rest of us worry about getting our nano wet, or banged up, or just plain feeling overly geeky walking to school or work. There has to be a better way to carry it around, preferably with a little style.
You might not have thought about styling up your nano. Until a couple weeks ago I hadn’t either. My friend showed me his leather flip case and I knew it was time to find something special for my nano too.
Inexpensive and Okay:
The easy path is (of course) a simple, “leather look” flip case. You can get one for under $10. A quick search found them in black, brown, pink, and blue colors. No doubt there’s more. There’s also another model that opens from the side (wallet-like) instead of the top.
If you want to stp it up a little, try the Kroo Manhattan case. It’s still faux leather, but has red topstitching to make it a little more unique. Still, not quite what I was looking for.
For a step further, take a look at the cases by Cloe Dao. Edgy types might want the skull and crossbones emblem on one of her designs. Non-edgy me liked her pinstripe case in hot colors. I was looking for something a little more conservative for commuting to work — but might try the colored case for weekend wear.
The Next Step Up:
The Sena Pullino case is a great option. It’s a simple design, uses real leather, and has a velvet lining to prevent scratching. The European leather case has a tight fit, which I prefer. I hate worrying about whether the nano will fall out. This case won’t get you style gasps of envy, but you won’t have any reason to be embarrassed about it either.
Two other mid-price designers to consider are Marware and Pacific Designs. They both make a good variety of multi-purposes cases. Marware even has a leather flipcase that’s reasonably priced.
High Fashion:
Want something special and girly? The Gilty Cotour 3G nano case fits the bill. The metal case is either silver or gold plated, with crystal accents. The Swarovski Crystals surround the nano’s Click Wheel and display screen. The model I looked at had a silver body and pink crystals — really cute.
My favorite for the work week is the Difusi case with snakeskin and napa leather. I also like the magnetic clasp. Also a plus: the price is around $40.
I was hoping to find something by Coach, Dior, or Prada to review. Coach has one for the 2G version of the nano, but they haven’t built one for 3G yet. Basically I was out of luck.
I love my Difusi 3G nano holder. It’s a nice designer case conservative enough for being near my office building but still has a “something special” look. I think I’ll buy a Cloe Dao next month for my play time too.
You have a lot of options for finding your own special 3G iPod nano designer case. Enjoy, and express your own style.
