Is Laptop Size That Important?

The question in computer portability has become, “Does size and weight really matter or is it more important to have a computing machine that allows you to fit all your productivity software and save as many files as will fit on your productivity machine?” Another point of concern may be whether the smaller dimensions are more valuable or if the light-weight portability is the chief issue. I think the accessibility of different types of laptops now lets us truly personalize our productivity machines into something that works for us today and doesn’t always have to be run of the mill for us all.

The production release of the state of the art macbookair by Apple has really given us a choice with the size and what kind of computer we take around with us when traveling. At less than 3 pounds and wafer thin, we don’t have to strain our shoulders every time we walk to work. It has a 13 inch display and a full-size keyboard. Tell me where I can get it today! This is the very attribute I have been seeking.

When I first previewed the advertisement for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to carry portable computer coming out of that little brown envelope, I was just in awe. Now, that’s what I’ve been seeking for so long. Now it doesn’t have to be a major accomplishment to take my portable computer with me any longer! No extra bag that can weigh nearly as much as the computer, no more sweating, no longer taking up more room than my suitcase! What a happy day!

The age old question of whether size really matters is here now and my answer, when it comes to a tiny laptop is a reverberating, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter as well as weight. For me and my laptop smaller is certainly better.
