Watch out for Free iPhone Downloads
Cyber criminals are attacking any device that has internet access, and mobile phones are no exception. When you download from the internet to your iPhone, you may get spyware or any kind of malware on your iPhone. It could also travel from your iPhone to your computer and spread in it. Hence you should be careful when you see all the advertising being done about iPhone downloads, they may not be authentic and you may be taken for a ride.
The Trojan Horse
The story of the Trojan war is a well-known myth in world history. The unconquerable city of Troy was battling out its position against Greece. Suddenly one day the people found a massive horse made of wood standing just outside the walls of the city. Since the horse was one of the symbols of Troy, people thought that it had been sent to them as a blessing from Goddess Athena. So the horse was taken inside the city and put as an offering for the Goddess Athena.
The Trojan horse actually contained some of Greece’s best soldiers, who were hiding in its belly. At night they came out and took charge of the whole city, destroying it completely. The wallpaper and the smiles are eye-catching and you get tempted to download them, not realizing that they are the means of harmful malware (malicious software) entering your computer and has been planned to do so by some cyber criminal.
Make Safety your priority
An array of programs is covered by malware that can be harmful for your computer and your iPhone. There are several names allocated to them like Trojan Horses, or simple ones like viruses, spyware, toolkits or keyloggers. They react on your computer in a particular manner and you can make out that your computer has been hit by a malware, when it either runs slowly or it behaves in a peculiar manner.
The security program which is present in your computer and iPhone may not be the best, and when something like this happens, you should immediately get new computer software programs into your computer and iPhone. The malware that you download with your free iPhone downloads is much more advanced and needs new software to fight it.
If there are any pop-up ads which appear on your screen and are advertising free iPhone downloads, never click on any of the links. You should also never open an email, whose address you do not recognize. In order to remove all emails containing malware, you require a spam filter for your computer and iPhone. This can also identify links to websites which load malware into your devices and screen them.
