The WoW Enchanting Leveling Guide
July 4th, 2009
Enchanting is a whole new ballgame compared to the other trade skills. Enchanting is not about making gear, it’s about adding statistical bonuses to existing gear – and these bonuses are often what puts you miles ahead of the competition. The only piece of gear that an enchanter cannot enchant are head pieces, but this is easily remedied by using tokens that you can acquire through gaining reputation with certain factions. Additionally, enchanters can not enchant other peoples’ rings; they can only enchant rings that they own.
Enchants can be problematic to find, and therefore auction stores are the solution. They can be placed on sheets or scrolls to the liking of the customer and sold or placed on items at the customer’s discretion. It is imperative to know that working on enchanting in substantial levels is fulfilling and profitable just like any other trade skill, but is very material intensive. A lot of money can be generated with very little input of preparation and dedication just from the sales of materials that are gained from disenchanting various pieces of gear.
Who do I need for enchanting?
You can purchase items in bulk while you are attempting to level up your skill, this bulk buying of items can cause materials to be a little more available then they would be without the bulk buy and disenchant system. These large orders of crafted items benefits all parties involved in the transaction. The leatherworkers or the blacksmiths can be of great help here as they can make a large number of one item while skilling up. This process gives the enchanter an opportunity to save quite a bit of money – for example, through disenchanting of the purchased lot.
You cannot always depend on other people to acquire the items you need, however. There will be times when the auction house simply does not have the items you will need, and this will happen more often than you think. Remember to take it day by day, and not to overspend on the items you will need. At lower levels, you should be able to acquire a large amount of the items you will need from lower level instances.
Is the guide a problem to follow?
The guide is meant to lead you with its steady instructions, which allow faster progress via enchanting by allowing for few losses of a financial nature. Training is a vital tool to spend your money on. Receiving recipes, which the guide stipulates, is also important, but note that it’s worth it and very little money will be spent on it. Whenever you achieve the 450 target, your next challenge is how and where to buy more patterns, and the consequent expansion of the collection of goods that you can offer your customer.
Just as you may be tempted to visit the auction store to purchase a variety of patterns that you come across, your guide should be respected at all costs until you finish the skill of enchanting. Whenever you make impulse purchases and end up throwing away money just like that, the costs will increase rapidly and cause unnecessary lose of money.
Have faith in this guide, and follow it strictly to optimize your leveling experience. A lot of research has gone into ensuring that the path laid in this guide is as efficient as possible. Once you reach the end, you’ll have access to one of the most valuable skills in World of Warcraft!
