Good budget option for 10″ tablet, with great possibilities for storage expansion Before you read any further, consider the price of this tablet and then think about what you want a tablet to do. You would not be buying an iPad quality tablet, but you would be getting a big screen Android tablet at a budget price with room to add storage for music, movies and photos. (Note – micro SD card and micro USB flash drives are not included, nor is a Bluetooth speaker as shown in the video.)—————-WHAT I WANT IN AN ANDROID TABLETI want a 10″ Android tablet for watching YouTube, Netflix and Hulu Plus. I also want to check email, surf my favorite websites (Facebook, SavvySleuth, Pinterest, Amazon…) and take photos and videos. I want it to connect easily to any available WiFi network, have the ability to increase its storage capacity and have a decent (2-3 hour) battery life on a single charge. This Dragon Touch AIX-Plus can do most of this, with a few things that could be improved upon. The biggest issues I have with this tablet and the reason I don’t give it a perfect 5-star review relate to its cameras, connectivity, inflated promises (GPS…not so much) and fair battery life.Let me explain.——————THE “PLUS”There is another AIX tablet from Dragon Touch on Amazon, but it doesn’t have `Plus’ in the title. What’s the Plus to this one?The `Plus’ means it has FM radio. I had to email the seller to figure this one out because at when I received this item from the seller to review it, there was no product info on their website. (They’ve got it up now, but it’s really not very comprehensive so email them with direct questions.)To access the FM radio you have to have a wired headset connected to the tablet. (Something like this will do it: . The FM receiver in the tablet uses the wire in the headphones as an antenna.I found this to be a unique feature, but not one that most users who have WiFi will use at all. It would be useful if you were in a no-internet zone and wanted to listen to music though, and didn’t plan on moving around a lot as that can affect FM reception.———————-TABLET FEATURES & USEThe build quality of this tablet is better than most at this low price, yet the ability to gently move my finger on the back of the case and still see movement on the screen is disappointing. (A firm case is needed to protect this tablet, but I think that’s the case with all of them.)The screen is bright and sharp. Images look good, as does video, however viewing angles are very important. Direct line viewing is best. If you get just a little off to the side, the screen appears dark.———–The sound is good too, and enhanced via a Bluetooth connection which is easy to setup in the Settings on the tablet. I liked using a Bluetooth speaker with it to watch YouTube videos, and I tried it with Bluetooth headphones and it worked great. (This tablet can also use Bluetooth keyboards.)These are products I’d suggest if you don’t already have Bluetooth accessories that’ll work: – works great, as do these earbuds; .————The `GPS’ feature isn’t really a GPS.There is Location services in Settings which can be enabled and used with Google Maps, if you are connected via Wi-Fi. There is no cellular data connection possible with this tablet, nor no stand-alone GPS feature, so I think this is an overstatement in the product description.Per TabletExpress – their explanation of what the GPS feature is was sent to me in an email on 1/29/15:”GPS can only use in outdoors. You can please go to “Settings”–“personal” and tap “Location, then you’ll find there’re some mode you can choose. Also you can download apps such as “GPS Test” to test if there has GPS in your area. Some map apps may help you when there’s no wifi if you’ve download offline maps.”I stand by my assessment – ‘NO’ real GPS feature is on this tablet. I went to Settings – Location – and turned on Location…
